The 6 W's of Real Estate

1) Who: A REALTOR® is governed, in Canada, by the Canadian Real Estate Association(CREA). Our governing body in Ontario is the Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA), mandated by the Real Estate Council of Ontario. We are professionals with a high level of accomplishment in earning our license, honing our skills, and continuing our education in order to provide you with the best possible service. We are legally bound by a strict Code of Ethics and our duty is to our client as long as no unlawful circumstances exist.

2) What happens when you call Sherry?
I’ll return your telephone call or e-mail before the end of the business day.
What do I owe you? There are two levels of service a REALTOR® can provide to buyers and sellers.

One is client service – which means that the fidelity of the REALTOR® is to that buyer or seller.

The other level of service is customer service.

Most REALTOR®s have many customers and several clients with whom they are in touch on a regular ongoing basis. Customers are often casual in their search for property, clients are committed.

The success of my business depends largely on recommendations and referrals from past clients – “Rewarding Results”.
“Agency” can be described as the relationship you have to the brokerage you are working with. The REALTOR® with whom you have made contact is a self-employed professional who works under the umbrella of the brokerage who holds his/her license.

3) Why is it required that we sign paperwork ?
The Real Estate Council of Ontario (RECO) instructs that either a client or customer relationship be identified at an early point in working together. I will go over the different aspects of both types of service (client or customer) and you will be given a pamphlet entitled Working With a Realtor. There is a small tear-off part of this pamphlet that you will be asked to sign – acknowledging that I have provided you with the information.

4) Then, it’s off we go to view the properties we’ve selected to see.

5) Where will we meet?– at our Bracebridge office – or could be at one of Royal LePage Lakes of Muskoka’s other offices.

6) How:

    1. Call me.
    2. Let’s chat, have you got a Wish List already?
    3. Let’s meet. I understand that either Buying or Selling real estate is a life changing experience – my job is to keep you informed, provide information, explain the processes and bring both Buyers and Seller together to accomplish a smooth and complete transaction.
    4. Are you familiar with the area? If not, here are the basics:

Gravenhurst to Bracebridge – about 2 hours driving time from Toronto. A good route to test is around Lake Muskoka from Gravenhurst to Bala, through Port Carling to Bracebridge and end up back in Gravenhurst.
Bracebridge east along Highway 118 toward Highway 35, then
Backtrack to Highway 11 and head north, then east along Highway 117 toward Baysville and Dorset in the Township of Lake of Bays.
Bracebridge north to Highway 141 at Port Sydney, then cross country heading west toward Lake Rosseau, Three Mile Lake and Skeleton Lake, then circle back to Bracebridge along District Road 4.

Driving from Toronto you can also take the Highway 400 extension at Barrie and travel north along Highway 169 toward the Parry Sound area. If the topography and geography appeals to you, we can start from our Port Carling office which is just minutes from the highway.
